The company highlighted tire inspections as one of the most important steps before a road trip. Proper preparation can improve safety, comfort, and overall travel efficiency, especially for families planning long-distance journeys.
Bridgestone Indonesia President Director Mukiat Sutikno said road safety should remain a top priority during the holiday period.
“The school holiday season brings higher mobility across Indonesia. Through these tips, we want to encourage motorists to pay closer attention to vehicle conditions, especially tires, while adopting safer driving habits,” Mukiat said.
According to Bridgestone, drivers should inspect both primary and spare tires before departure. Tire pressure should also match the manufacturer’s recommendations to ensure optimal performance throughout the trip.
For electric vehicles, maintaining the correct tire pressure is particularly important because of their heavier weight. Drivers should also check tread depth, inspect tires for damage, and ensure spare tires or repair kits are ready for use if needed.
Meanwhile, EV owners should plan charging stops in advance and identify available charging stations along their route. Bridgestone also recommends keeping emergency contact numbers on hand, including towing services and official roadside assistance providers.
During the journey, the company advises motorists to avoid aggressive acceleration, stay alert to pedestrians and cyclists, and take regular breaks to prevent fatigue. Drivers should ideally stop every two hours or every 200 kilometers.
If an emergency occurs, such as a flat tire or vehicle breakdown, motorists should pull over safely, activate hazard lights, and place warning triangles. For EVs, Bridgestone recommends using flatbed towing services to avoid damaging vehicle systems.
Through these recommendations, Bridgestone hopes travelers can enjoy a safer and more comfortable holiday road trip while reducing risks on the road.
