Telkomsel President Commissioner and Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Environment, Diaz F.M. Hendropriyono, said climate change continues to pose a major challenge for businesses and society. He praised Telkomsel for maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability despite operating outside the extractive sector.

According to Diaz, companies that prioritize sustainability can strengthen public trust and create greater value for future generations.

Meanwhile, Telkomsel CEO Nugroho said business growth must go hand in hand with environmental protection and social progress. He stressed that corporate success loses meaning if environmental conditions worsen and community welfare declines.

To support its sustainability goals, Telkomsel continues to focus on three key pillars: Jaga Cita (Empowering Communities), Jaga Data (Protecting Data), and Jaga Bumi (Protecting the Planet).

Through Jaga Cita (Empowering Communities), the company works to expand digital access and support talent development across Indonesia.

Throughout 2025, Telkomsel served 156.1 million mobile customers and 10.3 million IndiHome B2C subscribers. The company also operated more than 293,000 base transceiver stations nationwide. Moreover, Telkomsel expanded connectivity to more than 360 previously unserved villages.

The company also supported around 90,000 students, small businesses, communities, and young talents through digital empowerment programs.

At the same time, Telkomsel continued to strengthen workforce capabilities in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data science.

Under the Jaga Data (Protecting Data) pillar, the company focused on protecting customer trust through secure and responsible digital services. Telkomsel strengthened its governance framework through internationally recognized standards, including ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and ISO 25010.

Meanwhile, Jaga Bumi (Protecting the Planet) focuses on reducing environmental impact and improving operational resilience. By the end of 2025, Telkomsel had deployed renewable energy systems at 361 base stations using solar and micro-hydro technology.

The company also processed all electronic waste through recycling, reuse, or refurbishment programs. In addition, Telkomsel transitioned all SIM card packaging to environmentally friendly paper materials.

The company further supported carbon offset efforts by planting more than 12,000 mangrove trees throughout 2025.

Telkomsel also continued strengthening critical infrastructure, including base stations, telecommunications facilities, and operational buildings, against climate-related risks. Beyond environmental initiatives, the company said its sustainability efforts generated broader economic value.

Throughout 2025, Telkomsel redistributed around 83% of its revenue to governments, shareholders, suppliers, and employees. The contribution involved support from more than 235,000 retail outlet partners across Indonesia.

Director of Planning and Transformation Wong Soon Nam said collaboration remains essential to achieving long-term sustainability goals. He added that Telkomsel aims to become a catalyst and source of inspiration for building a more sustainable future.

The company’s sustainability strategy also aligns with the broader GoZero initiative across the Telkom Group.

Looking ahead, Telkomsel said it will continue supporting emission reduction efforts and contribute to Telkom Group’s Net Zero 2060 target.
