Jakarta, ThedailyID — The Indonesian government confirmed that nine Indonesian citizens linked to an alleged kidnapping case involving Israel have safely arrived back in Indonesia.
According to CNN, the group landed in the country after authorities completed diplomatic coordination and evacuation efforts involving several international parties.
The case previously drew major public attention after reports emerged regarding the detention and alleged abduction of Indonesian citizens abroad.
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry worked with embassies, local authorities, and international partners to secure the release and return of the citizens.
Officials stated that the evacuation process required intensive diplomatic communication due to the complex geopolitical situation surrounding the case.
The government also confirmed that the citizens are currently under monitoring and receiving assistance after arriving in Indonesia.
Reports identified the nine Indonesians as individuals connected to humanitarian and international activities in the conflict-affected region.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Sugiono emphasized that protecting Indonesian citizens overseas remains one of the government’s top priorities.
