Jakarta, ThedailyID — UNICEF said ongoing Israeli attacks in Lebanon have killed at least 200 children since March 2, 2026.

The agency also reported that more than 806 children suffered injuries during the same period.

UNICEF stated that children in Lebanon continue facing violence, displacement, and psychological trauma despite the ceasefire agreement announced in April.

“In total, at least 200 children have been killed and 806 injured since 2 March,” UNICEF said in its latest statement.

The organization added that at least 59 children were killed or injured in the past week alone. Meanwhile, 23 children reportedly died after the ceasefire took effect on April 17.

UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Edouard Beigbeder, warned that the continued violence could leave long-term psychological effects on children.

“Continued attacks are killing and injuring children, deepening their exposure to trauma and leaving devastating consequences that could last a lifetime,” he said.

In addition, UNICEF estimated that around 770,000 children in Lebanon currently suffer severe emotional distress because of repeated exposure to violence and displacement.

The agency warned that limited mental health services and unstable living conditions could increase the risk of chronic psychological disorders among children.

According to Lebanese officials, the conflict has killed more than 2,896 people and displaced over 1.6 million residents since March.

Despite the ceasefire, clashes and airstrikes reportedly continue in several parts of southern Lebanon involving Israeli forces and Hezbollah.

UNICEF called on all parties to protect civilians and comply with international humanitarian law.
