Jakarta, ThedailyID — Bank Mandiri Taspen signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) to strengthen collaboration between the banking sector and higher education (April 10, 2026). The partnership aims to integrate financial services with academic development while supporting talent growth.
The agreement aligns with the Tri Dharma of higher education and focuses on building skilled human resources. It also reflects growing collaboration between industry and universities to prepare students for real-world challenges.
Panji Irawan and Ova Emilia signed the MoU at the UGM campus in Yogyakarta. Panji said the initiative represents a practical step in linking financial services with education.
“This agreement is not just ceremonial. We want to support UGM’s operations through integrated banking solutions while giving students opportunities to gain practical experience in the financial industry,” he said.
The partnership includes digital banking solutions and financial literacy programs. These cover tuition and non-tax state payments through virtual account systems, making transactions more efficient.
In addition, Bank Mandiri Taspen will provide internship opportunities and scholarships for UGM students. The bank will also open pathways for its employees to pursue further studies at UGM, including postgraduate programs.
Panji said these initiatives aim to develop globally competitive talent. He added that the program supports Indonesia’s long-term development goals. Meanwhile, Ova welcomed the collaboration and highlighted its benefits for the academic community. She said the partnership also includes financial literacy programs focused on retirement preparation.
“Financial preparation for retirement is essential. These programs help educators enter retirement with stronger financial readiness,” she said.
