Yogyakarta, ThedailyID — Bank Mandiri Taspen signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Universitas Gadjah Mada to strengthen collaboration with the education sector. The partnership aims to combine banking services with academic development to support future talent.
President Director Panji Irawan and Rector Ova Emilia signed the agreement at the UGM campus in Yogyakarta. Both parties aim to create stronger links between industry and higher education.
Panji Irawan said the partnership reflects a convergence between banking and universities as centers of innovation. He added that the collaboration will support operational efficiency and talent development.

Panji emphasized that the agreement goes beyond a formal ceremony. He said the bank wants to support UGM operations with integrated banking solutions while giving students practical exposure to the financial industry.
The bank will also offer internship opportunities and scholarships for outstanding students through its CSR programs. Employees of Bank Mandiri Taspen can also continue their studies at UGM, including postgraduate programs. These initiatives aim to develop competitive human resources for global challenges.
Ova Emilia welcomed the partnership and highlighted programs for academic staff. These include financial literacy and pre-retirement preparation. She said such programs help educators plan their finances and enter retirement with better readiness.
