Bank Mandiri Taspen Hands Over Compensation to Family of Fallen UN Peacekeeper

Jakarta, ThedailyID — Indonesia has honored one of its fallen peacekeepers following a deadly attack in Lebanon, with financial compensation handed over to the soldier’s family.

President Director of PT Bank Mandiri Taspen Panji Irawan symbolically presented the Special Death Risk Compensation (SRKK) to the family of Zulmi Aditya Iskandar on April 5, 2026.

The late officer served as part of the Indonesian contingent under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). He was killed during a recent escalation of conflict in the Middle East.

The ceremony took place at Taman Makam Pahlawan Cikutra. It was also attended by President Director of ASABRI, Jeffry Haryadi P. Manullang.

According to Panji, the compensation reflects recognition of the soldier’s service and sacrifice.

“This compensation is a form of appreciation for his dedication in carrying out state duties in Lebanon,” he said.

Meanwhile, the assistance also highlights collaboration between Bank Mandiri Taspen and ASABRI. Both institutions aim to provide protection for military personnel and long-term support for their families.

In addition, officials said the compensation is expected to ease the family’s burden. It also serves as moral support following the loss.

The incident comes amid rising tensions in Lebanon, where Indonesian peacekeepers remain deployed under UNIFIL as part of international stabilization efforts.
