Jakarta, ThedailyID — A Pertalite shortage at three Pertamina gas stations in Klungkung, Bali, has forced motorists to queue for Pertamax. In response, Pertamina Patra Niaga is strengthening fuel supplies to meet local demand.
The company’s Jatimbalinus Regional Office has scheduled fuel deliveries totaling 26,200 kiloliters (KL) on October 12, 14, and 16, 2026. The shipments aim to speed up distribution to gas stations across Bali.
Ahad Rahedi, Area Manager for Communication, Relations, and CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Jatimbalinus, said the company was reinforcing supplies of both Pertalite and Pertamax. Meanwhile, distribution to gas stations will depend on local stock levels and consumption.
“With the arrival of fuel tankers, we are strengthening Pertalite and Pertamax supplies to meet the needs of the people in Bali,” Ahad said in an official statement on October 12.
According to Pertamina, one shipment carries 18,000 KL of Pertalite and 2,500 KL of Pertamax. The company has also scheduled additional arrivals through the Sanggaran and Manggis Fuel Terminals to maintain supply continuity.
Furthermore, Pertamina is optimizing fuel unloading and distribution from terminals to gas stations. The company will continue evaluating demand and stock levels in each area.
Pertalite consumption in Bali averages around 2,200 KL per day. Therefore, the figure serves as a key reference for supply planning and distribution priorities.
The shortage has affected three gas stations in Klungkung. They are Besang on Jalan Ngurah Rai in Semarapura Tengah, Siku on Jalan Rama in Semarapura Kangin, and Batu Tabih on Jalan Raya Batu Tabih in Takmung Village, Banjarangkan District.
As a result, motorists have turned to Pertamax, leading to longer queues. A local resident, Budiarta, said he had found Pertalite unavailable since the previous day.
“It has been out of stock since yesterday. Fuel is scarce, and we have to queue for a long time to buy Pertamax,” Budiarta told detikBali, as quoted in its report
He added that the situation was unusually severe for Klungkung. According to him, such conditions rarely occur on this scale.
In response to the shortage, Pertamina has urged residents to purchase fuel according to their needs and avoid excessive buying. The company also advised the public to follow its official communication channels for updates on fuel availability and services.
