Jakarta, ThedailyID — Jakarta police arrested a 29-year-old man suspected of distributing Etomidate in Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta.
The Directorate of Narcotics Investigation at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police arrested the suspect, identified by the initials IH, on Friday, September 18, 2026.
Police seized 261 pieces of Etomidate during the arrest. Officers found the items in four bags stored inside a red goodie bag.
Kompol Ardyan Yudo Setyantono, head of Subdirectorate 1 at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Narcotics Directorate, said the investigation began after police received information from the public.
The information concerned alleged misuse and distribution of Etomidate, which police described as a Class II narcotic.
“We successfully secured one suspect, I.H., aged 29, in connection with a narcotics offense involving 261 pieces of Ethobidat,” Ardyan said in a statement Wednesday, September 23.
Police said IH initially told investigators that he obtained the substance through a “tempel” delivery system.
Authorities have taken IH and the seized evidence to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Narcotics Directorate. Investigators will conduct further examination as the case proceeds.
