Jakarta, ThedailyID — The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has begun testing a new minimum share price of Rp1. The trial supports its plan to remove the current Rp50 minimum price.
IDX Director Jeffrey Hendrik said the test aims to ensure securities firms are ready for the new trading rules. He said the initial trial went well, although eight exchange members had yet to participate.
“Overall, it was quite successful. Around eight Exchange Members have not participated yet. We will follow up in the next trial,” Jeffrey said, according to detikfinance, Friday (28/8).
IDX is also holding focus group discussions with exchange members. The exchange will review reports from each member before moving to full implementation.
Jeffrey said IDX has not set a final date for the Rp1 minimum price. The policy will take effect after all exchange members are ready.
The current minimum share price on IDX stands at Rp50, commonly known as “gocap” stocks. IDX said removing the floor could improve market liquidity and price discovery.
The exchange also plans to revise the upper and lower auto-rejection limits. For shares priced at Rp1-Rp10, both limits will use a nominal Rp1 threshold.
For shares priced at Rp11-Rp200, the lower auto-rejection limit will be 15%, while the upper limit will reach 35%. Other price ranges will also receive revised thresholds.
IDX plans to implement the new auto-rejection rules on September 7, 2026, subject to the ongoing testing process.
