Jakarta, ThedailyID — Indonesia U-17 drew 1-1 with Uzbekistan in a closed-door friendly at Pakansari Stadium, Bogor, on Thursday night (27/8).
The result came from several social media accounts covering Indonesian football. The Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) has yet to officially publish the result or confirm the goal scorers.
The two teams had previously met at the same venue on Monday (24/8). Indonesia won that match 6-4 in a high-scoring encounter.
The two friendlies form part of Indonesia’s preparations for the 2027 AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualifiers. The tournament will run from November 8 to 20, 2026.
The qualifying draw on Thursday placed Indonesia in Group A alongside Myanmar, Afghanistan, the Philippines, and Cambodia. Myanmar will host the group matches.
The latest results give David Nascimento’s squad a positive boost ahead of the qualifiers. Indonesia finished the two-match series against Uzbekistan unbeaten, with one win and one draw.
The team also had a stronger preparation period than before the 2026 AFF U-16 Championship. Indonesia struggled in that tournament after a late coaching appointment and limited preparation time.
The squad now turns its focus toward the Asian qualifiers. Indonesia will look to build on its positive results and compete for a place at the 2027 AFC U-17 Asian Cup.
