Jakarta, ThedailyID — Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has invited former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to watch a Persija match together at Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).
JIS was developed and inaugurated during Anies’ tenure as Jakarta governor. Anies was also present at the inauguration of Toto Tentrem Hospital in South Jakarta on Monday (24/08), where Pramono extended the invitation.
“I also invite Mr. Anies. Let’s watch Persija together. The turf will be ready in about a week,” Pramono said, quoted from multiple sources, Monday (24/08).
Pramono said several concerts that had previously been restricted at JIS due to concerns over the stadium’s turf would now be allowed.
He said the turf issue had been resolved and wanted upcoming concerts to serve as a test of its condition.
“In the coming months, I will allow several concerts that I previously did not permit because I want to test whether the turf problem has really been resolved,” Pramono said, Monday (24/08).
JIS has also been connected to Ancol, allowing visitors to park their vehicles there when attending events at the stadium. Pramono said parking costs Rp5,000 for cars.
In addition, a KRL station now serves the area beneath JIS. Pramono said the improvements allow the stadium to be used more easily by the public.
“What has become Mr. Anies’ legacy with JIS can now truly be enjoyed,” Pramono said, Monday (24/08).
