Jakarta, ThedailyID — Success rarely happens overnight. For entrepreneurs, long-term growth often comes from positive habits practiced consistently over time.
Ahead of Global Entrepreneur Day, observed annually on August 21, Oktrianto Wahyu Jatmiko, Director and General Manager of Herbalife Indonesia, highlighted five habits that can help entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses.
According to Oktrianto, entrepreneurship has changed significantly over the past decade. More people are turning their passions into businesses while defining success based on their own goals.
“Optimism alone is not enough to build a growing and sustainable business. Successful entrepreneurs turn big goals into daily disciplines,” Oktrianto said, Monday (24/08).
1. Start each day with a clear purpose
Successful entrepreneurs set priorities before distractions take over. Writing down three key priorities can help create momentum and keep daily activities focused.
2. Keep learning
Curiosity helps entrepreneurs adapt to changing business conditions. Training, mentoring, reading, and learning new ways to serve customers can strengthen both professional and personal growth.
3. Build lasting relationships
Strong relationships form an important foundation for business success. Entrepreneurs can build trust by listening to customers, supporting their teams, and maintaining meaningful connections.
“When we prioritize relationships before transactions, we build loyalty that can last much longer than a single sale,” Oktrianto said.
4. Stay consistent during challenges
Every entrepreneur faces setbacks, from slower business periods to self-doubt. Consistency means keeping commitments and moving forward even when circumstances become difficult.
Over time, consistent effort can strengthen credibility, trust, and business results.
5. Appreciate every achievement
Entrepreneurs often focus heavily on their final goals. However, recognizing small achievements can help maintain motivation and encourage a healthier perspective on progress.
Oktrianto said today’s entrepreneurs are increasingly diverse, technology-driven, and purpose-oriented. He believes consistency, curiosity, and strong relationships remain key foundations for sustainable growth.
“Success begins with the willingness to keep moving, continue learning, and approach every step with a clear purpose,” Oktrianto concluded.
