Jakarta, ThedailyID — Jakarta police will deploy 8,095 joint personnel to secure several public activities across the capital on Friday, August 14, 2026.
The security operation covers events in Senayan, the RI Fest in Gambir and the National Scout Jamboree in East Jakarta. Police will also secure several public demonstrations.
Jakarta Police spokesperson Budi Hermanto said officers will adjust their deployment based on each event’s characteristics and potential security risks.
“Jakarta Police have prepared personnel to provide public services and security,” Budi said in a written statement on Friday.
For events in Senayan, the 8,095 personnel will come from several security agencies. The force includes 800 officers from the National Police headquarters, 4,230 from Jakarta Police and 1,163 from district police units.
The operation will also involve 1,850 military personnel and 52 personnel from Jakarta’s municipal agencies.
Police will use layered security measures with a focus on preventive and early intervention efforts. Officers deployed to the events have also been instructed not to carry firearms.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Police will implement traffic controls based on conditions on the ground. Authorities will divert traffic only if necessary to manage congestion.
Police have urged people traveling around Senayan, Gatot Subroto Road, Palmerah and the Parliament complex to allow extra travel time.
Authorities also asked the public to follow officers’ instructions if traffic congestion increases.
