Jakarta, ThedailyID — Pro-Palestine demonstrators forced their way into a hotel in Washington, D.C., where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was having dinner on Monday, July 27, as protests against his US visit intensified.
Netanyahu traveled to the United States earlier this week for talks with US President Donald Trump at the White House. His visit also came amid renewed calls from New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani for his arrest.
Several protesters entered the lobby of the Four Seasons Hotel Georgetown before pushing toward the restaurant where Netanyahu was dining.
“Bibi, Bibi, you can’t hide! You’re committing genocide! War criminal! Baby killer!” one protester shouted, referring to Netanyahu by his nickname.
Security personnel and law enforcement officers quickly intervened and removed the demonstrators from the hotel.
The incident coincided with larger demonstrations across Washington, including protests outside the White House and other government buildings. Protesters waved Palestinian flags, beat drums, and carried banners opposing Netanyahu’s visit.
Using megaphones, demonstrators also urged the US government to enforce the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant issued for Netanyahu.
“Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal. The only place he belongs is in ICC custody,” one protester said.
Another demonstrator called on US authorities to comply with the ICC warrant and hand Netanyahu over to the international court to face accountability over Israel’s military campaign in Gaza.
