Indonesia Climbs to Sixth in Asia in Latest FIVB Men's Volleyball Rankings

Jakarta, ThedailyID — Indonesia’s men’s national volleyball team has climbed to 42nd in the latest FIVB World Rankings, becoming the sixth-highest ranked team in Asia.

The rise followed Indonesia’s straight-set victory over Cambodia in the opening match of the SEA V Cup 2026 second leg on July 23 at the Jakarta International Velodrome.

The win earned Indonesia 2.49 ranking points, lifting its total to 104.24 points.

Although the gain was modest, it allowed Indonesia to overtake Bahrain and India in the global standings.

FIVB did not count the matches from the first leg of the SEA V Cup in the Philippines toward the official rankings.

As a result, Indonesia remains unbeaten in its last seven FIVB-ranked matches.

The team has collected more than 30 ranking points since the AVC Men’s Cup 2026 in June, when it recorded impressive victories over higher-ranked opponents, including Qatar and South Korea.

Those results helped Indonesia make one of the biggest jumps among Asian teams this year.

Indonesia can still improve its ranking during the second leg of the SEA V Cup if it continues its winning run.

The team will face the Philippines on July 24 in its next match.

As of July 23, Japan remains Asia’s highest-ranked men’s volleyball team at No. 4 in the world. Iran, Qatar, South Korea, and China complete the top five in Asia, followed by Indonesia in sixth.
