Jakarta, ThedailyID — Spain will receive US$50 million in prize money after defeating Argentina 1-0 to win the FIFA World Cup 2026 final at MetLife Stadium in New York on July 19.
FIFA announced in April 2026 that the tournament champions would earn US$50 million, making it the largest first-place prize in World Cup history.
The amount marks an increase of US$8 million from the 2022 FIFA World Cup, when Argentina collected US$42 million after lifting the trophy in Qatar.
In addition, every team that qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup received US$2.5 million in preparation funding before the tournament.
As a result, Spain will earn a total of US$52.5 million from its World Cup campaign.
Meanwhile, Argentina, which finished as runner-up, will receive US$33 million.
England, which secured third place, will take home US$29 million, while France will receive US$27 million after finishing fourth.
Furthermore, FIFA does not award cash prizes for individual honors such as the Golden Ball or Golden Boot. Those awards recognize players’ performances throughout the tournament but do not include financial bonuses.
