Israel Threatens to Kill Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei

Jakarta, ThedailyID — Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has been placed on Israel’s assassination target list as tensions between the two countries remain high.

“Mojtaba has been marked for assassination,” Katz said in an interview with Fox News.

Katz also warned that Israel could launch another military operation against Iran under certain conditions.

He said one scenario would arise if U.S. President Donald Trump concluded that diplomatic negotiations with Tehran had failed and chose to resume military action.

Another trigger, Katz said, would be any direct attack by Iran against Israel.

“If Iran attacks us, there will be a third war. The situation is very clear,” he said.

Katz added that Israel would respond swiftly to any missile strike from Iran.

“Israel will never allow Iranian missile attacks to go unanswered. It would happen within two days,” he said, adding that he had instructed the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to prepare what he called “Operation Blue and White.”

Mojtaba Khamenei has largely remained out of public view since succeeding his late father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as Iran’s Supreme Leader. Unlike his father, who frequently appeared at public events, Mojtaba has maintained a low profile despite his reported background in intelligence.
