Veda Ega Starts Ninth Despite Long Lap Penalty in Hungary

The young racer secured ninth place in qualifying after posting a lap time of 1 minute 46.845 seconds.

Veda faced challenges throughout Saturday’s sessions. He crashed early during Free Practice 2 and could not complete the program his team had prepared.

However, he escaped the incident without injury and returned to the track for qualifying.

Speaking after the session, Veda admitted the day had been far from ideal. Nevertheless, he felt encouraged by his pace and confidence on the bike.

He said he felt particularly strong under braking and comfortable during the Q2 session.

Unfortunately, race officials canceled his fastest qualifying lap because of a yellow flag incident. The decision prevented him from securing a higher starting position.

Adding to the challenge, Veda must also serve a long lap penalty during the race.

Officials handed down the sanction after determining that he slowed on the racing line and impeded another rider during the session.

As a result, the Indonesian rider will face a tougher task when the race begins.

Despite the setback, Veda remains confident he can fight for a strong result. Starting from the third row still gives him an opportunity to challenge riders ahead.

The Honda Team Asia rider has impressed throughout the season with his determination and steady development in international competition.

Moto3 remains one of the most competitive categories in motorcycle racing. Even small mistakes can significantly affect race outcomes.

Nevertheless, Veda will look to turn adversity into motivation when the lights go out in Hungary.

Fans in Indonesia will hope the young talent can overcome the penalty and continue his promising run on the international stage.
