JAKARTA, Thedaily.ID – Members of US President Donald Trump’s delegation reportedly destroyed several items received during their visit to China.
The incident happened after Trump completed his official trip to Beijing in May 2026.
Several journalists traveling with the delegation said US staff collected all items given by Chinese officials. After that, they discarded the items before boarding Air Force One.
The discarded items included ID cards, delegation badges, and disposable mobile phones.
Meanwhile, New York Post journalist Emily Goodin shared details about the procedure on her X account. She said White House staff prohibited all China-origin items from entering the presidential aircraft.
As a result, security staff removed every item received during the visit before departure.
Before leaving China, Trump also held a final meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Zhongnanhai government complex.
The two leaders later walked together in the garden area before Trump departed for Washington.
The incident quickly drew global attention. In addition, several observers said the move reflected the strict security measures used during presidential overseas trips.
